Parents have been pranking young children by pretending to smear poo on them.

Videos have surfaced online showing kids having Nutella or peanut butter wiped on them by giggling parents filming their reaction.

In one clip, by mum-of-two Rubee Adams, youngster Frankie, aged three, is asked to get his dad some toilet paper. But once Frankie comes near him, Bobby Smith, 24, smears Nutella on his arm and pretends it is actually poo.

It’s not long before the tot is gagging – much to the amusement of his parents. The 40 second clip, uploaded last month, has since gone viral.

Full-time mum Rubee, from Hull, said: ‘I’ve never pranked Frankie before but as he’s always gagging at his little sister, Elsie, who is eight months old, when she has gone for a poo, so I knew this would be the perfect prank.

‘Frankie almost started crying when Bobby wiped the chocolate – which he thought was poo – on him and he quickly tried to rub it off using the sofa.’ She continued: ‘Bobby put another bit of chocolate on his nose which added to his reaction.

‘He is such a funny character.’

Luckily for Frankie, he is quickly told the truth.

Rubee, 22, added: ‘When I told Frankie it was just chocolate he just laughed and walked off.

‘I’ve seen a lot of other parents pranking their kids online and that’s where the idea came from.

‘I have been shocked by the amount of people who have viewed the video as it’s now over one million which is crazy.

‘We’ve both received dozens of messages from people who find it just as funny as us.’

In a more recent video, uploaded by Leslee Davis, her son Kaleb is not quite so gullible, asking ‘what is that’ as he fetches a toilet roll and gets smeared.

But once he goes to wash the substance off, the youngster realises it is in fact peanut butter – 40 seconds after terror is first etched across his face as he wonders if it is poo.

Leslee, based in New Mexico, has more success with her other child, Adilee, as Kaleb watches on grinning.

Horrified Adilee is asked: ‘What’s that on you’, as she notices a substance that looks like poo on her arm.

She almost instantly gags while holding a toilet roll also smeared with peanut butter, while Kaleb – in on the joke this time – laughs in the background.

Kelly has to be told ‘it’s not poop’ before the clip – watched by more than five million people – comes to an end.
